We found and fixed several bugs that had come to our attention recently:

  1. Several users, particularly (but not exclusively) in Europe, reported errors in our current weather conditions, usually manifesting as temperatures ±4-10°F above or below expectations. The cause of this is that new weather stations were added to our weather station network, and that some of these stations are reporting extremely unusual conditions that weren’t being caught by our quality control mechanisms. We have added a new layer of quality control that now detects and blacklists such stations.
  2. The API would occasionally report duplicate severe weather alerts for some locations. This is because several of our sources for severe weather alerts organize alerts by region, may report the same alert for multiple regions, and these regions may occasionally overlap. Our system now detects this and filters out the copies.
