We have received reports that the API has been returning intermittent socket connection and SSL handshake errors to a very small fraction of clients between around 12:00 PM ET on 24 Nov 2017 and 9:30 AM ET on 25 Nov 2017.

We have not been able to conclusively determine the root cause, but we believe that the issue is local to one of our load balancing servers, and as such we have taken it out of rotation.

We will be investigating more deeply during business hours and taking mitigating steps based on the results of that investigation.
