The previously mentioned infrastructure maintenance is currently underway and will be complete before 2:00 PM EDT. No interruptions to the Dark Sky API are expected, but you will not be able to register for an account or modify your existing account on the Dark Sky API Developer Site until the window is complete.
UPDATE 2:00PM: The planned maintenance window is complete, and we will be monitoring the changes made for stability over the coming days. Please note the following:
We have completely replaced our system’s underlying database with new infrastructure. This should support a much greater scale of operations, and also support new features that we plan to release soon.
Please note that, because of these database changes, the last couple days of accounting records are presently missing from your user dashboard. This data has not been lost, and will be restored in the coming days.
We have completely replaced our system’s load balancing infrastructure. This should support a much greater scale of operations, and also fix several lingering issues that had been causing occasional 502 Bad Gateway errors in the API over the last few months.
The API now supports IPv6 and HTTP/2.
We have regenerated our seasonal averages data. They should now have better (smaller) error margins and somewhat better global coverage.
We have integrated the DWD ICON model into our hour-by-hour forecasts globally.
Thank you for your support! As always, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you experience any issues.
UPDATE 6 Jun 2018, 5:17PM EDT: We have completed importing the last couple days of accounting records into the developer dashboard. Thanks for your patience!
